Deer Haven Photos Make it into the Brooklyn Park 2011 NNO Newsletter

Annual Association Meeting - July 7, 2011 @ 7:00 p.m.

The annual association meeting will be held at 4608 Marigold Ave N. Please bring a lawn chair and your great ideas. If you are new to the association or have never attended, it is a very casual gathering where you can meet your neighbors, get information on the association budget and join the National Night Out planning committee.

Great ideas have been brought to these meetings in the past and we welcome your new ideas and suggestions. We hope to see you there!

2011 National Night Out - August 2, 2011 @ 6:30 p.m.

The National Night Out picnic was a great event again this year. There was roughly 50 neighbors who attended the event. If you have any ideas for next year's event, please consider joining the National Night Out planning committee. We welcome all volunteers.

2010 National Night Out Family Picnic

If you were not able to attend, sorry we missed you! There's always next year. There were approximately 55 people, comprising 22 families. At least a few groups did not check in, so the actual number is likely closer to 60 people.

It was a great time for both adults and children. The inflatable castle is always a hit with the kids. This year, the police and fire department showed up to hand out stickers and frisbees to the kids. We had a great variety of food this year. Thank you to everyone who brought a dish to share!

For the adults, we added a new game, a $1 poker run. We had pretty good participation. The jackpot grew to $29. The winner with a hand of 4-Aces went to Kelly! We had a number of businesses that donated generous prizes. These were given out as raffle prizes (need to be present to win).

The only thing that did not go as planned was the water balloon toss. What was supposed to be a friendly competition turned into a free-for-all. No one was safe from getting a good soaking.
